Dear Friends of NADI
In conjunction with World Diabetes Day on 14th November 2026, National Diabetes Institute (NADI) is organising a Virtual Walk campaign.
The objectives are to:
-Encourage physical activity to prevent diabetes
-Increase awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles
-Raise funds to support NADI educational programmes and activities on diabetes awareness
-Promote self-monitoring blood glucose test (SMBG) through the giving out of glucometer (while stocks last)
Campaign Duration: 14 August - 14 November 2026
Walking Period
1st Month: 14 August - 13 September 2026
2nd Month: 14 September - 13 October 2026
3rd Month: 14 October -13 November 2026
Registration fee: RM 35
*Applicable to 1 (one) selected walking period only. To enter more than one walking period, please submit a new registration.
How to participate?
-You just need to complete at least 10,000 steps in a single day.
-Record your activity using any steps tracking app on your smartphone or smartwatch. Example- Google Fit, Samsung Fitness, Strava, Runkeeper, etc.
-Please submit your proof of achievement on Friday, at least once, within your selected walking period. Points will be awarded as: 10k steps=10 points.
-Your entry is only valid for your selected walking period (1st Month/ 2nd Month / 3rd Month).
-Partipants are encouraged to share walking moments on social media. Tag NADI on Instagram @nadidiabetes or Facebook page @NationalDiabetesInstituteNADI using the hashtag #FriendsofNADI
Giveaways
- The first 100 registrations will receive a free glucometer (provided while stocks last)
- One e-certificate will be awarded to each participant who successfully achieves 10k steps in a day (as per walking period)
Monthly Prizes
-Most steps of the months - RM 100 Cash Prize
-Best walking moment posting on social media - Hampers / Attractive Prizes
*Winners will be chosen based on creativity and a collective vote by NADI Board and Management. The decision is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

Winners of monthly prizes will be announced on the Monday following the end of each walking period.

At the end of the programme, in conjunction with World Diabetes Day on 14th November 2026, NADI will choose a winner for:
Most consistent walker - Cash Prize RM 200
Winners will be chosen based on points collection.

The National Diabetes Institute (NADI) of Malaysia, organises the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Series annually since its inception in 2002. In 2008, this CPD was expanded as “Diabetes Asia Conference” (DAC) to emphasise the uniqueness of diabetes presentation and management in Asians.
This year, the “Diabetes Asia 2026” Conference is to be held in Kuching, Sarawak on the island of Borneo with support from the Sarawak Government through BESARAWAK. While attending the Conference, participants will also have the opportunity to experience Sarawak’s diverse culture and appreciate its unique flora and fauna.

Objective of the Conference
The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Series as “Diabetes Asia 2026” Conference aims to help improve management of diabetes with emphasis on recent advances and practical aspects of diabetes care. Participants are expected to be able to:

- Understand ways of ensuring early diagnosis and optimal management for good control of diabetes, complications and associated diseases
